Visual identity change for the Centre québécois pour la déficience auditive. The Réseau québécois pour l’inclusion sociale des personnes sourdes et malentendantes (ReQIS) has a mission to promote the common interests of its member groups in order to help improve the quality of life and defend the rights of deaf and hard-of-hearing people, both signing and oral. A new name, a new logo. The French acronym (ReQIS) allows for an interesting play on words. Easy to pronounce in French, the word “Requis” (required) suggests that the organization’s goal is essential. Indeed, it is vital to work toward improving the quality of life and defending the rights of deaf and hard-of-hearing people, both signing and oral: this organization is ReQIS. The acronym in LSQ/ASL is signed with both hands; the logo evokes how deaf and hard-of-hearing people are taking their place in Québec, thanks to a network of solidarity.
